Who is this suitable for: Any over 16- this workshops ideal if you've previously attended the introduction to sewing or have some sewing experience & want to build your skills & confidence!

What you will learn & make: You will learn all about ‘What is jersey fabric’, how to stitch jersey/stretch fabrics, machine settings, needles, what to avoid, create seams on a regular sewing machine, understand stretch percentages & demystify different fabric fibres...put it into practice & make a twisted knot headband(s). This is a perfect workshop to prepare you to progress onto dressmaking projects or workshop with stretch fabric like tshirts, dresses hoodies, sweaters, cardigans or leggings.

Samples created in the sessions are ideal to build a skills file to create a perfect reference guide for when you need to use that technique again! (AKA your very own sewing bible)

Excellent informative and practical course.

A 2 hour course which was long enough to absorb and put into practice all the info we were given. Lucy explained the different stretch fabric types and their ‘confusing’ names, Scuba etc. their uses and the previously confusing percentage stretch, along with providing lots of scraps for us to feel and practice sewing. She described the different needles needed and helped to set up our machines for stretch fabric sewing so we were all able to leave with a lovely scarf made by using our new knowledge. Thanks Lucy
