Welcome to The Sewing Institute
The Sewing Institute, previously The Vintage Sewing Bunny, was established in July 2015 by Lucy; a qualified Textiles teacher and sewing enthusiast, who is passionate about creating a learning environment and hub for socialising & community. The team has recently expanded to support a thriving online community of sewers and vibrant fabric studio. The fabric boutique offers a select range of hand picked fabrics, which prides itself on quality over quantity! There's a fast turn over of fabric inline with fashion & interior trends each season including a core line of high quality 100% cottons as well as linen, jerseys, cord, denim, viscose and polyester crepes…to allow both dressmakers & crafters ample choice for their projects! The product range is ever expanding and driven by customer feedback & request, they are inline with sewing workshops and most recently live Facebook sewing tutorials/sew-a-longs. Situated in the heart of Lytham St.Annes in The Ansdell Institute, on the lower ground floor of this grand Edwardian building, easily accessible by bus & train, both with stops only a few metres away.
Great little class for absolute beginners really good pace and lots of fun
These fat Quarters are great quality and perfect for the project that Ihad in mind for them
Going to make Christmas Day napkins! Lovely variety of patterns.
Great session with the lovely Katie with a great group of other learners. The dog came along too and was given a warm welcome. I've learnt a basic crochet stitch and have started making my bobble hat. Looking forward to future sessions to learn more. I love the sewing institute. Try it, you will too!
Absolutely the best, gives you space to create, love it and everyone so friendly and helpful xx
The material is just as it is pictured. It’s very easy to sew
Lovely fabric for tote bags and will be ordering more.
Looks excellent, however this is a gift for my granddaughter for Christmas but I am sure she will love it because she attends some sewing classes and she uses this type and make if sewing machine
The social sewing times are perfect for getting things done especially cutting out/pattern matching etc. The added benefit is meeting up with other sewists for a chat. A very friendly place to spend a few hours (and possibly buy some fabric🙂)
Lovely kit with clear instructions and quality material.
Very good, great instructions.
Lovely fabric to work with
Brilliant I managed to complete a task with help from the experts and used an over locker for the first time
As usual, Lucy did a fantastic class and we learned about concealed zip, how to shorten zips and inserting them into garments using different methods. Highly recommend this class.
