WORKSHOP TESTER: Playing with your pants

Time & Date: 10-3pm Friday 13th March
Location: Lytham Ymca Mythop Road, Lytham St Anne's, FY8 4HB
Cost: £30: Includes pack of dressmakers tracing paper but please bring along french curves/rulers and an old sheets/duvet cover/cheap fabric for toiling.
Who is this suitable for: Over 16's- Confident Sewer: This course is perfect if you have dressmaking experience & want to extend your sewing skills further.
What you'll Learn & Make: For this session we'd like you to choose one of your favourite pants patterns (one you've made before- pjs like TATB Jaime & Margot, or Safiya pants are ideal) which is suitable to adapt;
- creating a separate waistband piece
- adding hip pockets
- adding darts
- adding pleats
- adding a pintuck
- redrafting waistbands
- adding/reducing width
- adapting wide leg to barrel leg
We'll guide you through these various adaptations to your simple pants pattern, you may choose to focus on certain aspects rather than cover them all, this will depend on the pace in which you work & personal preference.
The timings of this workshop should enable you to complete the garment within the session but each person will work at a different pace so please be aware you may have tasks to complete after the session finishes.
