Course content:
This course is specifically designed to take your dressmaking skills to a more confident & professional level. During the 4 weeks you will build your folder of samples with self written instructions- this will become your sewing reference guide (or sewing bible) for future sewing projects & can be built upon for months/years to come.

Throughout the course we will cover; laying out pattern pieces, grainline, bias of fabric, pattern markings, transferring pattern markings & notches, seams, hems, darts, applying facings, understitching, princess seams & insert a concealed zip.

We suggest that you put into practice your newly acquired skills by making Tilly & The Buttons Martha dress along side the course, this may be at home or during social sewing sessions. Create a dress which focuses on fit using princess seam panels on the bodice, a bias-cut flared skirt and an invisible zip at centre back. Learn about adjusting & drafting facings to create a neckline that suits you and changing sleeve shapes, styles & length.
