Who is this suitable for: Any over 16- this doesn't require any previous experience just a little enthusiasm!!

What you'll learn & make: Make two beautiful  home furnishing staples to start your sewing journey; cushion cover & bunting, leave with confidence using a sewing machine, handling fabric & cutting fabric.
Introduction to Sewing:
Learn the basic functions of a sewing machine, become confident in how to thread & use the machine to create a cushion cover. Learn basic techniques such as creating hems & seams that are ideal skills to transfer to everyday sewing jobs. You will also create a stitch sampler.
Bunting:
Increase your confidence in using the basic functions of the sewing machine, creating seams, negotiating corners, clipping & turning & attaching bias binding to produce a beautiful length of bunting in our pretty printed cottons.

An Amazing Workshop!

I have been wanting to learning how to machine sew since making a circle skirt with A LOT of help from my friend and my Mum. So, when I saw this being advertised at the Sewing Institute I signed up. It was £60 and worth every penny! There was a cafe upstairs (easily accessible) and there were multiple workshops happening which meant that there were lots of people to chat to. Everyone was so lovely and helpful and it was such a great atmosphere. Also, I really did feel like we learned a lot and we were given plenty of opportunities to practise those skills over and over again to gain confidence and independence. It was also worth it for the amount of activities, resources and materials that were provided. I came away feeling really inspired and absolutely wanting to book more workshops with them. I really can't recommend it enough!
